As part of our rural skills series we are delighted to offer this unique Welding for Women workshop.
Welding is an essential skill for people living in rural locations who want to be self-reliant and save themselves potential costs. By the end of the day you will walk away with a repertoire of skills to enable you to perform general maintenance, repair and restore metal around your property, on the farm or just simply to allow you to get creative with metal.
Over the weekend you will learn how to make a sandbag dome structure that will be used as a home for noisy turkeys. The dome is almost completed however you will learn about the design and construction of it from scratch – from footings to completion. The structure should be completed by the end of the day ready for rendering the following day Sunday 13th. The project demonstrates an array of techniques used in earthbag construction and provides participants with the knowledge and skills of earthbag building confidently and to be able to build their own structures.More Details »
